4 month old babies are NOT supposed to STAND up
27 Oct 2009 3 Comments
Ok so I have some experience with babies since I am one of 1o and have 3 of my own. Just a couple of days ago I heard Gracie wake up. She was napping in her bouncer at the time. So I walked over to her and she had a grip of the top of the bouncer and was standing up in the bouncer. Yes STANDING up. I know it sounds a little overdramatized but the child was standing. Of course Seth and James didn’t believe me and I’m sure they thought I was just making my child look like a genious. Well guess what happened next? Seth saw her standing up in her swing as it was swinging. Thank you very much I’m not a liar!!! Ok so no more just putting her in something without buckling the seat belt. I guess it’s in her blood because Uncle Miah stood up on the top of his walker (he couldn’t walk yet or stand at the time) and he was only 4 months so I guess she’s still got some work to do.
Flushed away

Asher has had a super good week potty training. Every time Jordan goes to the bathroom he takes Asher in there too and they have a peeing party. Jordan always goes first then pulls the stool over for Asher since he’s not quite tall enough to hit the toilet. So yesterday they were in their normal routine but this time Asher had his paci in his mouth. They boys flushed, washed their hands and came out of the bathroom as usual. I really didn’t think anything of it until it was nap time for the boys. Asher started asking for his paci and I asked him where it was. He said “Jiden flushed it down the toilet.” I yelled for Jordan to come into the living room and asked him where the paci was. He said “Well mom we had a problem earlier in the bathroom.” I asked him what his problem was and he said “well when we were going potty Asher accidently dropped his paci in the toilet and we didn’t want to get it out so we just flushed it down.” I just laughed and told Asher he would have to sleep without a paci. He grabbed his blanket, crawled in his bed and was out like a light without it. I guess he’s ready to say bye-bye to paci for good.
Pop, pop, BOOM!!!!

Those were some of the noises James heard as he was on daddy duty while I was working for Michele this afternoon. I got a text message while I was working that James had to open the sliding door to air out the house. At that moment I knew it couldn’t be good. All the drama began when Jordan asked James if he could make himself a popcorn snack. James didn’t have a problem with that and got up and put 2 minutes 15 seconds on the microwave. When James turned around to make Gracie her bottle Jordan decided that he would clear James’s time and put his own time. So James was feeding the baby which takes about 20 min. and started smelling something awful. He got up and noticed that Jordan set the microwave to 2o minutes. James said he’s not really sure how long it cooked for (which is scary). Needless to say Jordan blew up the microwave and James had to take it outside it smelled so bad. We are so glad the microwave didn’t start a fire. Now that would have been bad.
Mystery bread crumbs

Ok so since we’ve moved back into the house, the rule has been no eating out of the kitchen for any reason whatsoever. Anytime that we find crumbs or anything on the floor the kids have to help and clean it up. So as soon as Uncle Miah came back from tour I found lots of bread crumbs on the floor. I automatically thought that Uncle Miah was breaking the rules and I was out to get him. When he said he didn’t do it I blamed Uncle Seth. (he tends to break this rule the most) I made him get the vacuum out and vacuum the mess up. He willingly did it but as soon as he was done he continued working on his schoolwork and I walked in to check if he did it. The floor was covered in bread crumbs again. I said Seth thanks for vacuuming but the floor really needs to be vacuumed again a little later. Then I walked into the big living room and there were crumbs all over the place. Asher was sitting on my lap and James had gotten the sweeper and cleaned up the mess. Asher got off my lap then back on my lap again. There were crumbs everywhere!!!! At this point James and I were laughing and trying to figure out how crumbs got right where James had vacuumed 25 seconds earlier. James thought Asher had these little dinner rolls and making a mess as we were cleaning. After investigating the bread crumbs, they were not bread crumbs at all but diaper gel coming out of a hole is Asher’s diaper. AHHHHHHHH how gross is that. We had come home from the pool and I had put a diaper on him right when we got home so it hadn’t been that long. I guess he snagged it on something and part of the diaper ripped. Awww so Uncle Seth did in fact vacuum the bonus room even though I thought he didn’t do a good job. Shame on me.
Sleepy Boys

During the last few weeks also I have taken some cute pictures of the boys sleeping that I’d thought I’d share.

Let me just say the boys slept for 2 hours while we shopped in IKEA. Wow what a quiet break.

Worst Booger story of all time!!!!!!

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE GAG REFEX PROBLEMS OR DON’T LIKE BOOGER STORIES DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT!!!
Ok so everyday we were at our training sessions we came home and ate lunch and I would put Asher down for his afternoon nap. Each day Jordan would kiss us and be fine hanging out with Jeremiah the rest of the afternoon. Aparently on the last full day Jordan had enough and was screaming his head off and wanted us to stay. Since that wasn’t an option I was holding him and passing him over to Jeremiah. He was screaming and snottin’ all over the place and let out this huge huff from his nose and this huge booger flew into my MOUTH. You heard my right, my mouth. Oh my gosh! Out of all the poop, vomit, spit and other gross stories, this tops them all. I was on the front porch of our apartment during all of this so at least I could spit it out. Oh geez! I gagged the whole way to our class. No amount of drinking got me to stop thinking about it. EWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so when did they make todder toothpaste thick and super blue? Please let me know when this happened because I have always bought it and it’s clear. Anyway Jordan thought it was time for him and Asher to brush their teeth and was going to take it upon himself to open the toothpaste and put it on the toothbrush. The problem is he very carried away and put it all over the rest of Asher including his hands, legs face and behind his ears. Asher also thought it would be fun to squeeze it on the computer desk and smear it all OVER the mouse and chair. Let’s just say it was so much fun to clean up. The question is will I survive them?
The most poop I have seen in all of my days…

Last Thursday we were in Orlando and were visiting some friends Ryan and Jen. All the kids had eaten dinner and were playing together really nicely. One of Ryan’s daughters came into the kitchen where all of us were and announced that his help was needed. He left and quickly summoned me for assistance. Actually he yelled “Anna I think you’re needed.” I ran and said “what is it now?” He said “well you’ll smell it as soon as you hit the hallway.” WOAH I sure did!
Jordan had tried to hit the toilet and completely missed and there were poop piles everywhere. He was actually trying to clean the poop up off of his feet with toilet tissue. It was just ripping and sticking and STINKING. It was so bad! I am so thankful for James because he was right there helping me clean up the poop while I was bathing Jordan. When I say everywhere the poop was everywhere. I was stuck to the toilet, the floor, the brand new looking floor mat with cute little flip flops on it, all over Jordan’s hands and all over his body.
I can almost guarantee that that bathroom smells even though we cleaned it from top to bottom then disenfected it and sprayed. I feel so bad but I know they have kids and know stuff like this happens. Thanks guys for having us over, we enjoyed the pizza!
Mommy’s little helper

Ok I must blog and brag about my little Asher because he has been such a good little helper today. First of all Jordan is almost always gone on Fridays because that’s Jordan’s day to go to work with Daddy. Jordan is always up and getting ready and he knows what day it is. Asher always stands at the door and waves and cries because he knows he’s missing out on something. Well today I had housework to do and was cleaning the kitchen and he noticed that I was starting to put the dishes in the dishwasher away. He started handing me the dishes one by one and then the silverware one by one. (that took 10 minutes by itself) then he wanted to help load it back up. (haha that also took like 20 more minutes.) Then he noticed I was transferring the laundry from the washer to the dryer. He also wanted to help with that and push the button like Jordan does to turn the dryer on. After that he wanted to help pick up toys. Wow what a helper. After that he was ready for his payment. He wanted to by paid in little white powder doughnuts. I bought these because Jordan has been asking for them again and again because Uncle Jeremiah gave him some when they were over at their house. Well anyway I finally got talked into buying some and now Asher wanted the WHOLE bag. Well since he did work hard he got 2. He was so proud of all the work he did and he deserved it. I know this is probably a boring blog but this is the kid that usually wreaks havoc but today he has stepped up to the plate and is becoming a big boy. How cute!
