FREE, FREE, FREE

I am so proud of myself. I was sitting on my computer when the kids were napping and this free ad popped up saying that she was giving some preschool abeka books away. I emailed her immediately and was able to set up a time to pick them up. I had to wake up my sleeping children but it was so worth it. When I got there she had TONS of other stuff she also gave me. I got a big fisher price doodle thing, flash cards, a set of my first dictionary, atlas and encyclopedia. She also gave me a cube shelf and a bunch of animal teaching resources. God really has blessed us in finding such great deals this school year. I told her that she really blessed us with the stuff and she was thrilled it was going to another homeschooling family. God really does care about the small details in our lives.

Homeschool Adventures about to begin….

I have some very excited little kids about to start our preschool homeschool adventures. We were actually in dollar tree today and a lady asked Jordan if he was about to start school. He said “no not school but I am about to start PRE school and I am so excited.” She asked where he was going and he said “well I’m going at my house cause I love my mom and she’s a cool teacher.” That made my heart happy.

Over the last few weeks I have been thinking, breathing, and planning homeschool, homeschool, homeschool. I have been so excited getting everything ready, ordering different things and feel very blessed to have found the things I have found this year. My mom has been so generous and supportive of my homeschool endeavors and has helped so much with ideas and financially. We were also so blessed to find stuff on craigslist that was sooooooo cheap. I got an easel for $10, a TON of books, books on tape, CD’s, Kindermusik stuff, craft books, art books, math manipulatives, educational games, posters, abeka preschool books, and tons of other fun stuff for $80. We got 2 kid’s desks for $8 each with lamps. I got a set of leap frog magnets that talk and sing the letter sound and what the letter is for $6. I also hit up target when they had their educational preschool books for 75% off. OH and I can’t forget my goodwill purchase. I got a set of hardback books that have 1 book per letter and that reinforce letter recognition. The whole set was $5.

OH did I mention that I love, love, love craigslist. We have found so many deals to get us started on homeschooling. Also a friend of mine recommended a curriculum for 2′s, 3′s and 4′s for a super cheap price so we also will be doing that along with the other stuff I have. So check out my finished homeschool room it’s awesome!!!! We also have extra pieces of carpet squares left from our carpeting project and those will be our “magic” reading carpets. I have all these fun ideas so I’ll do updates and blog about our fun activities and how our homeschool endeavor is going!!!
